Its always sad to say GOOD BYE to a coworker, even more sad when he’s a genuinly nice guy. This was the case for my husband this past weekend, I must say even I liked the guy, so then you must know – a sad occasion!! His wife is such a sweet person too! I had the honor of meeting them a couple of times for drinks after work at a few craft beer breweries. They will be missed!
But my post today is about the venue where we were at for the leaving do – Tyber Creek Pub. Its an Irish pub in South End – your typical pub with Guinness and Magners (an Irish cider that I used to drink when living in London) and that dark, smokey atmosphere.
The pub itself brought back memories of when I was younger and I had no preference of how a place must look or smell nor did I have any problems with stinky bathrooms and drunk girls throwing up after that one too many beer or drink. A time when I did not mind to be pushed around or when the music was so loud that you could not hear yourself think – I think I might be giving away my age here…! Girls trying to outshine each other and boys showing off how their bodies can move so as to impress those very girls. I do miss those care free days but I do love clean bathrooms way more nowadays!
On this occasion we witnessed something a little sad or very strange!! A wedding party (a bride in her wedding gown and all). I am hoping it was because their outside venue could not accommodate them on account of the heavy rain that afternoon or some other very cool reason like this is where they first met or something, something extra to add to their love story.
All that being said, I do think this is a great place for a quick beer after work, for a St Paddy’s day celebration or if you are missing Ireland and the UK. They have a great food menu with all the Irish favorites that Americans can stomach and decor to take you back to the inside of a proper Irish pub.
May the luck of the Irish be with you all!
